Start a workflow

Schedules

Run a workflow every hour, on chosen days at a set time, or once at a moment you pick.

A schedule runs a workflow because the clock says so. Open the schedule panel on the canvas and choose one of three kinds.

Every so many minutes or hours: every fifteen minutes, every hour, once a day.

The panel shows the next few times the workflow will run, so you can check a schedule says what you meant before you rely on it.

Exactly one run per due time

Every minute, the scheduler looks for schedules that are due, claims each one and moves its clock forward, then starts one run for it. A run that takes longer than the interval does not cause a second copy to start behind it, and a schedule is never run twice for the same moment.

What a scheduled run is

The same as a run started by hand: the same steps from the saved canvas, the same log, the same credits. A scheduled run starts with nothing in hand, so the first step usually fetches something: a list of payments, new rows, the files in a folder.

Combine a schedule with key-value state to process only what is new: store a cursor or the ids you have seen, and read it at the start of the next run.

How often you can run

The shortest interval you can choose follows your plan's monthly allowance of runs. A plan with a hundred runs a month is not offered a schedule that would use them up before lunch. The limits are on the pricing page.

Who can change it

Adding, changing and pausing a schedule needs the editor role or above. A schedule belongs to its workflow: delete the workflow and the schedule goes with it.
